Belgrade, Serbia, August 2026

When people don’t understand each other, they often blame it on differences in age or upbringing. But we believe age and tradition are not barriers to hearing one another.
We believe traditional and modern are not separated by walls but coexist side by side. What’s old isn’t “outdated” or “unnecessary,” and what’s new isn’t always “destructive” or “dismissive.” We explore how tradition and innovation manifest in relationships, between parents and children, in habits, technologies, language, lifestyles, perspectives, and even in clashes between the old and the new. We examine this within individuals too — in growing up or trying to preserve what’s slipping away.
We screen films made by teenagers, but this festival isn’t just about teenagers. It’s about our relationship with time, age, experience — and the future.
We want to ask questions, not hand out ready-made answers. The Particles Film Festival is an invitation to this kind of dialogue.
We talk about how fast the world is changing — and how we’re changing with it. We’re trying to find a place for all of us in this shifting world. A place for humanity. We reject stereotypes but aim to notice and respect what matters to different people — what makes them unique and what unites them.
We’re creating a space where we can speak honestly about what we think, even when it’s scary or uncomfortable. We believe everyone has their own truth — and that respecting others’ truths matters.
Our festival is about what concerns us today and about what will worry us tomorrow, but also about what matters always, beyond time.
We don’t explain how the world should work. We share how we work. We want to learn to see and hear one another.
Every film, every opinion, every one of us is a distinct particle that becomes part of a whole. Only together do they interact, spark, and transform.
We don’t pit tradition against change. Instead, we seek ways to connect them — through contact and intersection. This festival is about a teenager saying, “This is how I feel,” and an adult suddenly replying, “Me too.”

A "particle" is always about choice.
Your particle can be in any form, if it belongs to one of these categories:
- Fiction film
- Documentary film
- Animated film
- Video art

A particle is when something small affects something bigger.
The film should be no longer than 40 minutes.
